Data Portal

The GLOS Data Portal provides access to near-realtime and archived observations and to model forecasts for the Great Lakes. This includes lake conditions, water levels, wave heights, air and water temperatures and more. Receive updates from the station or buoy of your choice, and even download data from the site.

  • Is map- and chart-oriented, and is aimed at a broad, general audience.
  • Presents satellite data and model forecasts in a user-friendly way.

The HABs Data Viewer provides convenient access to data used to monitor conditions and to alert those making decisions regarding harmful algal blooms and water treatment.

Huron to Erie Connecting Waterways Forecasting System

The Huron to Erie Connecting Waterways Forecasting System provides predicted forecasts of water levels and currents through the Huron to Erie Corridor. The tool has varying applications, which include guiding spill response, aiding search and rescue efforts, beach health management, and finding the source of fish kills, among others. Features include:

Nowcasts every three hours and forecasts every 12 hours for currents and water level for St. Clair River, Lake St. Clair, and Detroit River

Great Lakes Model Inventory

The Model Inventory allows users to search for models, applications, people, and organizations that address ecosystem health, marine operations, public health and water security, and measuring and adapting to climate change. Reviews of modeling and assessment tools are provided and some direct access to models.

The Point Query tool provides quick access to Great Lakes Coastal Forecasting System (GLCFS) input data and model output for a given location and time period.
